Easing Object Fears
If your dog is scared of something, gradually help them approach it. Try a “target game” or lure them with treats to get closer and closer to that scary item.

Baby Steps Forward
At first, place treats far from the object. Let your dog retrieve the treats.
Gradually move the treats closer to your target spot.

Gentle Persistence
Initially, your dog may grab the treat and run back to you. If they do, be sure to reward them again when they return to you.
If the dog isn’t making progress, move the treats farther away from the object to keep them comfortable.

Building a Positive Association
This “counter-conditioning” process—linking something positive to a fearful object—needs repetition.
Sometimes, your dog may briefly regress, but with consistent practice, they’ll soon grow more confident.
