Creating Homemade Brain Games
These homemade puzzle toys boost a dog’s confidence, determination, and sense of smell. Eventually, your dog might find even a tiny strand of your hair in under five minutes!
Starting Simple
Put a small piece of kibble or coarsely ground food in each cup of a muffin tin. Let your dog find all the food.
Do it again, but cover half the treats with tennis balls.
Building Problem-Solving
Your dog may push, flip, or lift the tennis balls while searching. If they struggle, remove a ball so they can see the treat, then put it back. If they’re too rough, hold or brace the tin with your hand or foot.
