Sit

Sit1

First Common Command
Sit is the first command most dogs learn, forming the basis for a lifelong, close bond with their owner.

Sit2

Guiding Them Down
Hold a treat near your dog’s nose to get their attention.
Say “Sit,” then slowly move the treat around. The dog will tilt its head up, and its rear naturally goes down.

Sit3

Reward Right Away
The moment their butt touches the floor, give them the treat right away.
If the dog keeps looking up but won’t sit, try the same trick near a wall so they can’t back up.

Sit4

Maintaining Motivation
Once the dog sits consistently, you can replace the treat motion with a simple hand signal. Still give occasional treats to keep them motivated.

Sit5

First Sits Smooth the Way
Some dogs are stubborn at first, but once they sit successfully a few times, the training becomes much smoother.
