Respecting Other Pets
Your dog must learn to coexist peacefully with other household pets without scaring them.

Calm Introductions
Put the cat on a higher spot. Your dog may come over to sniff. Offer a blanket that the cat has used so the dog can smell it first. That way, seeing the actual cat later is less exciting.
Lift the cat up so it feels in control, then bring the dog close on a leash once the cat is calm.

Gentle Redirection
If your dog gets too excited, offer treats or speak softly (not in an excited tone) to redirect its attention.

Taking a Step Back
If the cat hisses or seems very tense, remove the dog and try again later. Use a soft but firm tone to remind the dog to be gentle.

Building Peaceful Coexistence
Some dog breeds are natural hunters and may chase cats, but consistent training and clear rules can control those instincts. Indoor dogs generally learn to manage excitement better than outdoor dogs.
